We have a silver maple tree on the west side of our house. Mom planted it a number of years ago, and it is known for being a very fast growing tree. Here is a picture of it:

For the past 2 years, I have watched as these green leaves progressed from a pod to what you see here. That may not sound like anything extraordinary, but let's look at this progression.

In mid to late February, red pods begin to appear on the tree's limbs such as what you see below:

"The fruits of maple trees (Acer spp.) are called samaras, but kids of all ages call them helicopters. Each seed has its own little "wings" that allow it to spiral downward and plant itself in the soil below.

The fact that maple tree seeds fly through the air like little helicopter wings is cool, but the closer you look, the more amazing the design appears. In terms of aerodynamics, the setup is so nearly ideal that it has been the model for scientists developing small flying machines."

You can also see the beginning of the leaves sprouting from where the pods attach to the branch.

The green leaves (whose undersides are grayish - hence the name silver) are growing. As they grow, the red pods diminish. Then there is nothing but green leaves.

Well now you have seen the development and progression of leaves on a silver maple tree.

Let me share with you what God told me about His creation:

The red pods represent the blood of Jesus shed for every single one of us in the world - no exceptions. The blood is shed until there is no more just as the red pods are diminished and are no more. As the blood is shed and the tree pods reduced, the life which Jesus came to give us comes forth in the green leaves. In God's colors, green is the color of life. With these green leaves, God covers us; shades us; protects us; hides us; holds us; surrounds us; teaches us; directs us. Jesus's blood turns into life.

Not just any "life", but that zoe life. Lemuel Baker stated "Life or Zoë means life that is real and genuine, a life active and vigorous, devoted to God, Life that comes directly from God." Kenneth Hagin phrased it this way: "This everlasting, eternal life Jesus came to give us is the nature of God; the God-kind of life."

This is just another one of God's incredible creations which shows that there is a God who orders the universe. He shows us of His love throughout nature, others, His word, his talks with us, and the giving of others. Thanks be to God for the process and progression that it took to give us that Zoe Life!!!

Thanks for stopping by,

Rachel

Rachel, I love that you have a blog. My grandchildren love playing with those helicopters. Now when they play with them, they will give me a new meaning. Thanks.
