When praying or talking about God, we use many words trying to describe Him and what He means to us. Attempting to describe Him in our own terms, whether in our limited or limitless language, never seems to completely satisfy. He is simply beyond words, but we will always continue to try!!

Recently I was reading my devotionals from “Jesus Calling” when God nudged me to reread several of them consecutively. Wow! What a description! It gave me a gratifying and loving description of who God is, His character, and His love for each of us. What a way to start each day!

June 24: “I designed you to enjoy me above all else. You find the deepest fulfillment of your heart in Me alone.”

God, thank you for thinking of me in Your design process to enjoy You ABOVE ALL ELSE!

June 25: “By the time you rise from your bed, I have already prepared the way before you. I eagerly await your first conscious thought. I rejoice when you glance My way.”

When I wake up, my first conscious thought is of you, God. You are always awake and constantly making preparations for my day. You’re right here with me anxiously waiting my first call to you each morning! How precious and endearing that is! I couldn’t ask for anything more!

June 29: “As you get out of bed in the morning, be aware of My Presence with you. You may not be thinking clearly yet, but I am. The true question is not whether you can cope with whatever happens, but whether you and I together can handle anything that occurs.”

You know me so well because I am not thinking clearly as I get up! I’m sure You are saying “Wake up, Sleepy Head!” I am assured because I know You are always with me. You will NEVER leave me nor forsake me. You and I together can handle anything that occurs.

June 26: “Remember I go before you as well as with you into the day….Awareness of My Presence contains Joy that can endure all eventualities.”

I have you before me/with me as I go into the day. As I am aware of Your Presence, I have Joy! A Joy that can endure all!

ree

June 27: “Look neither behind you nor before you. Instead focus your attention on Me, your constant Companion. Trust that I will equip you fully for whatever awaits you on your journey.

You are my constant Companion, and all I need to do is focus on You. I trust you to fulfill my needs for the day. Now, is my belief strong enough to keep my focus on YOU?

ree

June 28: “The more you experience Me, the more convinced you become of My goodness. This knowledge is essential to your faith-walk….Do not try to fathom My ways. Instead, spend time enjoying Me and experiencing My goodness.”

YOU ARE GOOD. Regardless of the circumstances of each day - positive or powerfully negative - You have my best interest in mind and have a plan for me which is good. I want to experience how good you are!

ree

July 1: “This time alone with me is essential for unscrambling your thoughts and smoothing out the day before you. Be willing to fight for this precious time with Me.”

Time spent with you, God, IS precious time. Not to be wasted nor have something else prioritized before it. I will fight for this, God!

ree

July 2: “Discipline your thoughts to trust Me as I work My ways in your life. Pray about everything; then, leave outcomes up to Me.”

Trust, pray and leave outcomes up to Him.

Is this the God you know and love? I pray He is! What a way to start each day!

Thanks for stopping by,

Rachel
