OK, Bluestone grads, remember this? The Golden Link. Our yearbook! When God showed me about His link with us, this name was what came to mind. Let me explain.

This morning, Mike and I traveled to Chase City for some visitations. God surprised me with an awesome visual message! As we were driving across the bridge out of town, I was looking at the beautiful sparkling “diamond” lights shining on the water. Toward the end of the bridge, I realized that there had been a “beam” of light shining down on the water and straight to our car. It had been there during the entire ride across the bridge and almost seemed “attached” or "linked" to the car.

This was about 9:40am, and the sun was shining down on the water with a beam of light similar to the one in the picture above. It appeared to begin from the other side of the by-pass bridge. The beam was about 10 feet wide and ran from the other side of the bridge, between the 2 bridges, and directly to our car.

After we turned onto another highway, I shared with Mike what God had shown me. God was sending His light directly to our car without interruption. It was like a direct connection; a solid beam; a message of connectivity with the One who matters most.

A prism came to mind.

"The defining optical property of prisms is that they bend light. When the sunlight shines on the water, it bends and changes the direction of the light. This change of direction is caused by a change in speed. For example, when light travels from air into water, it slows down, causing it to continue to travel at a different angle or direction."

Evidently I was seeing the light change to different angles as we moved across the bridge, just as in a prism. However the beam never wavered! It ran straight to our car as if it were linked, and God was sending us on our way with His light. Thus, the golden link!

Even as we are connected with Him through the Holy Spirit in us, we travel through life "at different angles and directions". Our perspectives change from day to day, week to week, year to year based on our circumstances and needs. We may see a particular view in our trials or grief circumstances, which may actually be "veiled" so we don't recognize it. Yet we have another view during our praiseworthy days.

Regardless of the reasons, the connection with His light is constant. He was showing the importance of connecting to Him; knowing & understanding that we are connected; and staying connected.

In John 15:5, Jesus tells us about himself and how he is linked to His Father - I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing.

I found these steps about staying connected to God on the Kenneth Copeland Ministries website. Well said!

1. Stay Connected to God by Stopping All Compromise

Refuse to allow the things of the world—material possessions, career position, sinful pursuits, ungodly relationships or social standing—to eat away at your time with God. Get His Word into your heart so deeply that no one else’s opinion is important.

2. Stay Connected to God by Praying

It’s time to talk directly to God. Instead of relying on anyone else to tell you what God wants for your life, start a direct conversation with Him. Tell Him what is on your mind. Tell Him your concerns. Ask for what you need and even what you want. Pray for the needs of others. And, believe that what you ask will be answered (Matthew 21:22).

3. Stay Connected to God by Accepting Jesus’ Love

John 14:21 says, “Whoever loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and will show Myself to him.” You don’t have to be shy about your relationship with the Father. You can be confident of God’s love for you and His desire to bless you.

Rufus Moseley, a great man of God who went to heaven some years ago, once said, “Life in Jesus is gloriously easy. It has one responsibility: the responsibility of remaining in union. If you stay in union with Him, He’ll take care of everything else.”

When you incorporate these steps into your life, staying connected to God is delightfully simple. You’re able to keep that vital connection and trust Him to take care of everything else.”

Let us all answer this call and never disconnect. Keep the Golden Link alive and active!

Thanks for stopping by,

Rachel
