Merry Christmas!

A college friend posted this on Face Book 3 years ago, and it caught my eye and attention today as it reappeared as a "Memory". It is taken from a Christmas card she received and was written by Michael Podesta:
If, as Herod, we fill our lives with things, and again with things;
if we consider ourselves so unimportant that we must fill every
moment of our lives with action, when will we have the time to
make the long, slow journey across the desert as did the magi?

Or sit and watch the stars as did the shepherds?

Or brood over the coming of the child as did Mary?

For each one of us there is a desert to travel,
a star to discover, and
a Being within ourselves to bring to life.
I don't know about you, but I need this thought-provoking reminder right now. I don't really consider myself unimportant, but I do desire to fill my life with "moments of action", always "doing something".
Right now is the time to take a look at that desert and how I am traveling over it; it is time to seek to discover a star (which may or may not be in the sky!); it is always time to bring to life and keep this Being alive inside of us, whom we call the Holy Spirit. Remember: That first Christmas, God gave us His best!

Wishing that this powerful reminder invades your spirit with the Hope that Christmas brings. May it never fade after the end of December but continue its light, which is the light of Jesus Christ.
Merry Christmas to All!
Thanks for stopping by,
Rachel
