Today I was traveling to a friend’s house when this song began to play: “Run to the Father” by Matthew Maher, which is still one of my favorite faith songs. God perked my ears to these words:

“I wasn't created To bear it alone”

Here is the first verse:

I've carried a burden For too long on my own I wasn't created To bear it alone I hear Your invitation To let it all go Yeah, I see it now I'm laying it down And I know that I need You (author emphasis)

Does this stand out to you? Yes, this is one of those nuggets which is sharing nothing new but has woken up something in me that makes me want to say “God, you did this for me?”

In his infinite wisdom, He created us, from the very beginning of time, to come to Him with every burden; every care; every good thing; every new discovery; every THING. He never intended us to go through life alone; to never go through life without Him!

Is it our pride that makes us think we can handle things ourselves? Let me speak for myself. Years ago, I thought that I should be able to figure out how to solve my problems. That was part of being a mature adult, right? The ones I couldn’t solve were the ones I could take to God. He seemed really good with the BIG problems. Let’s just say that I don’t think that way anymore. Praise God!

I know that I should/do go to God with every situation, regardless of whether it is a problem or a praise. (He should receive our thanks as well as our help requests!) Since we live in a fallen world, it goes to reason that we need help – divine help named Jesus!

God wants us to run to Him again and again. We won’t wear out the path or bother Him. He is always available!

Philippians 4:6-7 Do not be anxious or worried about anything, but in everything [every circumstance and situation] by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, continue to make your [specific] requests known to God. 7 And the peace of God [that peace which reassures the heart, that peace] which transcends all understanding, [that peace which] stands guard over your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus [is yours].

(AMP Bible) (author emphasis)

God does not want and never intended for us to “bear it alone”, whatever the “it” is. He is always here to help us. He may send a friend or a stranger with a word; He may direct us to see things with our spiritual eyes instead of our natural eyes; He may put a certain book in our hands to read; He may direct someone to send that special postcard with just the right inspirational message on it; He may speak to us in corporate worship. God’s ways are endless, but HE WILL BE WITH YOU SO YOU DO NOT HAVE TO BEAR IT ALONE!

Believe this; trust this; trust His Word; trust Him! There is no one else.

Praying for a really good, fun and safe summer for you all!

Thanks for stopping by,

Rachel
