I was listening to the song entitled “Rescue” by Lauren Daigle. It is written as God speaking the words. She says:

I wrote Rescue with a loved one in mind so this makes that one of the most personal songs I’ve ever been a part of. I remember getting this vision about a girl who was caught in a really desperate situation. She was running to all of these vices in order to find just an element of hope or just something to keep her in the process of this desperation. And in came walking down the hall Jesus. And instead of judging her for maybe some of the actions she had chosen that were really painful and difficult, He sat with her in the midst of it all. He didn’t try to fix her, He just was with her.” – Lauren Daigle

Yes, presence is what is so very important during the times of our lives.

Listen to this:

What God emphasized to me through this song is His astounding love. He loves us so incredibly much that He will find us no matter what we are going through, no matter where we are, no matter how we are feeling about ourselves. God is saying that He is big enough, loves us enough, powerful enough, and constant enough to find us!

Read these words again to begin to understand how deep God’s love is for us:

You are not hidden

There’s never been a moment you are forgotten

You are not hopeless

But you have been broken, your innocence stolen

I hear you whisper underneath your breath

I hear your SOS, your SOS

I will send out an army

To find you in the middle of the darkest…

Night, it’s true, I will rescue you

I will never stop marching

To reach you in the middle of the hardest…

Fight, it’s true, I will rescue you

There is no distance

That cannot be covered over and over

You’re not defenseless

I’ll be your shelter, I’ll be your armor

Add those powerful words to the scenery from the official music video which was filmed on a glacier in Alaska. Lauren says that she wants people to see this “established hope” theme not only in song, sound, and emotion but also in the visual. “Among the scenes: drone footage that gives the illusion of “wrapping around” atop the glacier. “It’s kind of showing the viewer what type of landscape we are in,” says Daigle. “When I say ‘established hope’ that’s the visual I’m seeing paired with that. Firm as a mountain.” ‘

God is our "established hope". He is unwavering; solid; constant; always available; firm as a mountain! How vast, how deep, how wide, how high, how expansive is God’s love for us!!! He’ll find you!

ree

He will rescue you and give you that established hope!!!

Thanks for stopping by,

Rachel
