John 4:24 God is a Spirit.

Remember this character called Casper the friendly ghost? When I look at him, he reminds me of something that happened when I was in Sunday School many years ago.
When you were at a young age, did any of your Sunday School teachers ask you to draw a picture of God? Way back in my “memory bank”, I do remember that being asked. I also remember how puzzled I was because I tried to envision God just as I could envision Casper so it would help me to draw him. But there was no image or picture that came into my mind. I don’t remember what I did, but it bothered me that I couldn’t complete this task.
Now, after many years, I understand why this was such a difficult task. God is a spirit. Can you see a spirit? What color is a spirit? We cannot see a spirit (unless God reveals that spirit to us). So that means we cannot see God, right? Let’s examine this:
In the beginning, we were all in the spirit realm with God before the world began.

John 1:1-2 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
2 The same was in the beginning with God.
We are the same, which is the Greek word houtos meaning they, them, this man, this woman, her, him. The same means us!
God decided when to manifest each and every one of us. It was no accident that our parents got together, but it was God-directed. So at the appointed time, God moved us out of the spirit realm and into a flesh body. We moved from our divinity into our humanity.

John 1:14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us,
God also decided when to manifest Jesus, who was God in flesh.
Yes, we can see God when he put on flesh and was given the name Jesus. But also remember that Jesus Christ came to live in each of us once we accepted Him as our Savior. So if Jesus is in us (and He is!), then we see Him when we look in the mirror each day. We see Him when we look at our friends of faith. We are Him!
Hallelujah! Yes, we can see God!!!
Thanks for stopping by,
Rachel
