A "Teaser" Day

It’s hard to listen to nature from inside the house during the winter. But this day has been one to remember! What a day in the middle of February! It’s 70 degrees and:

Birds are singing their own unique songs; a wood pecker is pecking;

An airplane is overhead

A slight breeze blows among the trees;

Our planter boxes are waiting for plants;

Some weeds are already showing themselves;

Buds on the silver maple are larger than 2 days ago;

A fishing boat is moving up the lake.

For me, this is Heaven on earth – being able to sit outside, soaking in some Vitamin D and simply listening. Trying to be still.

Because in 3-4 months,

It will be too hot to sit outside at 2;00pm without some shade;

The sun will be too warm for my plants, especially if there has been little rain;

The breeze will be a hot one;

The boat traffic will be noisy;

Lawn equipment will be blaring around the surrounding neighborhoods;

Weeds will be growing rapidly right before my eyes!!

But all of this will be OK as long as I can be outside in my Father’s world.

However for now - this moment – I will:

Be still;

Listen;

Feel the tears rolling down my cheeks as I remember those who used to

live in this house and fill this yard with laughter.

I will live in this moment and Praise and Honor You!!!

How truly blessed I am! How truly blessed we are!
